Writer, editor and BubbleCow co-founder, Caroline Smailes, next week releases her third novel Like Bees To Honey.
I am not sure if you all know, but BubbleCow is a family business. We are a husband and wife team (with a lot of help from other talented publishing people). We are both editors and writers. We work together, back-to-back, in our office, tapping away at our key boards, often communicating by Twitter rather than boring spoken words.
When we are not editing, we write. I write children’s history books, but Caroline is a real writer. She creates worlds, amazing worlds that spring into existence, growing as Caroline populates and builds them. I am lucky. You see, I get to share these worlds. I get to watch them be born and grow. I get to see the process. I get to watch.
Like Bees To Honey is Caroline’s third novel and to celebrate she wanted to do something special. Her publisher (The Friday Project) and Caroline sat down and thrashed out a new and exciting approach to launching a novel.
They wanted to do something original, something that had never been done, something that would be a big thank you to all her loyal readers, fellow writers and supportive bloggers who have encouraged her over the past years.
The result is the world’s first blog serialisation of a novel.
This is the first time a novel has been published on-line, prior to publication, on just one day.
Today, the whole of Caroline’s novel is being placed on the internet for fans to read. It has been scattered across the virtual world, with 32 blogs each publishing a different chapter of her novel.
If you go here (Caroline’s blog) you can read the first chapter. Then, just click the link to the next chapter and you are off…
I have chapter 14.
If you want to buy a real, paper copy here’s an amazon link.
The blog hosting the next chapter: Fluttering Butterflies
Can I just sign off by saying I am proud of Caroline, whilst I am a writer, she is an artist.
