Even More Tonto Short StoriesTonto launched as a company in 2005 with its first call for anthology submissions.

Tonto Short Stories proved to be an instrumental platform for a number of new writers to launch their careers.

The publication of ‘Even More Tonto Short Stories‘ will prove Tonto’s commitment to supporting new writing as well as experienced authors.

Competition Rules

Closing date for receipt of entries: 3 August July 2009 (midnight GMT).

Maximum of 5000 words with no minimum. Flash Fiction very welcome.

Author (and BubbleCow superstar) Caroline Smailes will be judging entries and helping to put the collection together.

As the cover suggests, this is a project to have fun with! We look forward to reading your stories.

Eligibility

  • The Prize is open to anyone, including non-UK applicants, over 16 years.
  • Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published on any website or online forum, broadcast nor winning or placed in any other competition (as at 1st November 2009).

Fee

  • Entry fee is £6.99 per story and you can send as many entries as you like.
  • Entry fee means you are pre-ordering the book (including postage and packing). Eg, by entering the competition, you get a free book.
  • Fees are payable by Paypal, cheque or postal order. Cheques must be from a UK bank and should be payable to Tonto Books with the sender’s name and address on the back.
  • Online Entries are paid as you submit, using the ‘add to cart’ button and completing the transaction at the checkout.
  • Overseas cheques, money orders or drafts will not be accepted.

Entry Format

  • Stories to be double spaced, Times New Roman and in Word.
  • Stories must show no name, address or identifying marks other than the title.
  • Stories can only be submitted via email.
  • No corrections can be made after receipt, nor fees refunded.

Receipt of entry

  • Entries are confirmed by the email receipt of your payment.
  • Results will be emailed to all entrants and posted up on the website.

Copyright

Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author, but Tonto Books will have the unrestricted right to publish the winning stories in ‘Even More Tonto Short Stories’.

Judging

  • As with all Tonto writing initiatives, the judges’ decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into.
  • Judges are unable to comment on individual entries.
  • Judging is fair and unbiased.

Prize

  • The winning entries will be published in the collection.
  • The book will be available in all online bookstores and all self-respecting bricks and motar bookstores.
  • The collection will be widely marketed and distributed with authors taking part in media opportunities when requested.
  • The book will be launched in November.
  • Signings will take place in bookstores.
  • Winning authors included in the collection will also receive mystery prizes.
